Wilderness Groups

This list is offered for informational and discussion purposes only. No claim is made on behalf of the group listed as to their veracity or ability to reach their stated goals.  It is strongly suggested that you research any group before you join as a member or give any financial support to them.

Membership rolls of some groups might be sold, leased, or used to imply great political pressure in lobbing the government or other groups. Seek out a local meeting and read their mission or purpose statements. Find out what projects they worked on, and how those results match the groups stated goals.

Some environmental groups may advocate civil disturbance or the destruction of private or government property. Use verifiable third party sources during your research. Local chapters may not be totally in sync with their National Group. Be wary of groups that use names or initials similar to notable national groups.
